Abstract: 
										Lay Participation System in Japanese criminal justice system(SAIBAN—IN SEIDO)is a new way of quasi—jury system with the characteristic of a unique across between a Common Law and a European mixed court,which allow lay persons selected from Juror Pool to constitute a panel with professional judges and decide the fact and the final decision in serious criminal cases.

																								摘要: 日本的“裁判员”制度就是在那些民众关心程度较高、社会影响较大、法定刑较重的重大案件中,实行以随机方式抽选一般国民担任裁判员,由裁判员与职业法官组成合议庭,共同审理案件,一起决定定罪量刑的制度。裁判员制度是日本在推进司法改革和司法民主化过程中建立的一种新型制度。这一制度的建立有其特殊的时代背景,是一种兼具英美陪审制和大陆参审制特征的民众参与司法模式。
